Matt Roy's Bikes

1993 Bridgestone MB-1 -

Matt’s dinosaur from 1993 is one of the favorites in the quiver.  The legendary Bridgestone MB-1 made from paper-thin Ritchey Logic Super Prestige steel tubing has been Matt’s one and only mountain bike since he pro-purchased it from the shop he worked at as a teenager in 1994.  After sitting neglected for many years, Matt finally rebuilt it as a single-speed.  With wheels built by über-mechanic Todd Downs, using White Industries’ ENO hub and Mavic XM819 tubeless rims, the MB-1, with its impossibly thin 1” rigid fork and sexy Ritchey Fork Crown.  After many years of missing out on the dirt, Matt hits the Middlesex Fells with Mo at least once a week.  One of these days, Matt will get something with gears on it, until then, this relic will do just fine.
